The 12,400 sq ft mixed-use Benning Marketing (3451 Benning Road NE), will combine innovative office space with food-focused neighborhood-serving retail. Joining the project as leading retail partner, Market 7 seeks to revitalize and restore the economic stability, holistic health, and the social needs of the residents in the Ward 7 community through an alliance of local entrepreneurs, strategic partners, and community investment. Benning Market is part of the Great Streets commercial revitalization initiative.

RFK Stadium Campus

Events DC is transforming the RFK Campus from acres of concrete into an integrated, community-oriented campus of sports, entertainment and cultural-amenities. The first phase -- The Fields at RFK Campus -- opened in June 2019. Upcoming phases include a market hall, expanded sports and recreation complex, pedestrian bridges (including from River Terrace to Kingman Island), and an RFK Democracy Center.

RFK Future was formed by members nonprofit civic association Friends of Kingman Park to ensure that local residents’ voices were heard as the District considered the future of the site.

Benning Road Bridges and Transportation
Improvement Project

District Department of Transportation
The Benning Road Bridges and Transportation Improvements Project's goals are to enhancing the safety and operations along the corridor and at key intersections, improve transportation infrastructure conditions, enhance and install pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and rehabilitate roadways and bridges that cross the Anacostia River, DC-295, and CSX freight rail tracks.
